A new offering powered by Periscope, anyone on Twitter can now create and tweet live video with the latest Android and iOS updates.
Twitter has moved to enable live video broadcasts by users directly from its apps. Powered by Periscope, the new live video feature allows people to share and experience everything from significant moments to daily life together with an audience—and all through a Tweet.
Members of the audience within a live video on the social media channel can interact with the broadcaster by commenting and sending hearts to show their support. Tweets that contain live video can be re-tweeted, liked, and shared anywhere that people can share a Tweet.
“We wanted to give people the superpower to share live video with an audience. Bringing this capability directly into the app is an important step because it brings the offer to the hundreds of millions of people who use the platform,” said Kayvon Beykpour, CEO of Periscope.
