R/GA applications are open to entrepreneurs and start-ups leading the development of new and emerging technologies in all areas of IoT.

R/GA Ventures has kicked off the application process for its first ever UK-based venture programme, the R/GA IoT Venture Studio UK. Applications are open to entrepreneurs and start-ups leading the development of new and emerging technologies in all areas of IoT.

Focused on start-ups looking to develop connected products and services on a global scale, the platform was launched in collaboration with InnovateUK, the government’s innovation agency. The programme will be based at R/GA London’s new connected headquarters.

Specifically growth- and early-stage outfits are invited to apply. Up to ten IoT start-ups will be chosen to take part in said programme. The start-ups selected will have access to R/GA’s business transformation, strategic marketing, design, branding, and technology services.

Said participants will also be afforded access to the tech company’s network of clients, industry partners, global brand leaders, mentors as well as investors. Matt Webb, Founder and former CEO of Berg Cloud, is slated to lead the programme as Managing Director.

“This is our third IoT programme globally. We are delighted to extend our unique R/GA Ventures approach to the UK as we look to support companies from around the world that want to bring their technologies to the UK market” said Stephen Plumlee, Global COO at R/GA.

The programme’s areas of interest include Connected Hardware, Connected Cities, Connected Finance, Connected Enterprise, and Data & AI. Additional segments span OOH, Robotics, Smart Farming, Environmental Sensing, Augmented Reality, Solar Charging, and more.

Meanwhile, the areas of Urban Surveillance and Security, Mobility and Smart Cars, and Off-Grid Mesh Networks complete the mix. While the above categories are key, application is open to any company with the potential to impact the future of IoT on a global scale.

Start-ups worldwide are encouraged to apply, and can submit their applications from 1 September to 14 November 2016. The programme concludes in May 2017 with a demo event. Each company will present to an audience of investors, industry leaders, and press.
