Porsche has unveiled its 2019 Macan S variant, which marks the latest addition to the brand’s refreshed compact sport utility vehicle line-up.

Porsche has announced the global premiere of the 2019 Macan S. The newest addition to its refreshed compact SUV range, the variant packs a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine with a 348-horsepower pickup capacity—which is shared by the automaker’s Panamera, Cayenne, and E-Hybrid models.

Meanwhile, the updated offering bears the same updates as its four-cylinder sibling. Key features include a continuous LED light bar at the rear and the marque’s updated communication management system with a 10.9-inch touchscreen, which replaces the previous seven-inch version in older models.

With twin-scroll technology, exhaust gasses feed continuously into the turbine wheel as separate streams, significantly reducing charge cycle disadvantages. In addition to increased output with enhanced combustion chamber geometry, Porsche has made some chassis revisions in line with the facelift.

On the front axle, aluminium strut forks replace steel components to complement the existing aluminium suspension links. Brake responsiveness has also been improved for a firmer connection and smoother pedal feel. The reimagined sport utility vehicle has introduced Traffic Jam Assist as an option.
