Releasing AT&T from its contract, the San Francisco Giants have signed a deal which hands Oracle the naming rights to its ballpark.
Oracle and the San Francisco Giants have inked a 20-year deal handing the tech giant the naming rights to its ballpark until the end of 2038. While an earlier contract placed those rights with AT&T through 2019, renewal talks entertained corporate sponsorship strategy changes that warranted an early exit.
With the new development, the venue will be called Oracle Park. Stepping up when said opportunity was presented, both parties agreed to the terms over the holidays to prepare for the 2019 baseball season. The brand will partner with the sports team and invest in improvements over the next five years.
Enhancements include a new scoreboard and signage as well as the implementation of emerging technologies to create unique fan experiences. Additional ballpark upgrades will be announced in the coming weeks. A signature Oracle community outreach programme and social engagements will also be organised.
