Customers can now get the Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in a red finish and contribute to the Global Fund to fight AIDS with every purchase.

Apple has launched the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition in a vibrant aluminium finish in recognition of its more than 10-year partnership with (RED). The release enables consumers to contribute to the Global Fund and support the move towards an AIDS-free generation.

The collection will be available to order online across the globe and in stores from 24 March onwards. Meanwhile, the organisation’s work provides access to life-saving HIV and AIDS programmes in sub-Saharan Africa, which is home to more than two-thirds of the world’s HIV-positive population.

All proceeds go toward Global Fund grants to cover testing, counselling, treatment, and prevention efforts, with a specific focus on eliminating transmission from mothers to their babies. Since its inception in 2006, (RED) has generated over $465 million, with more than $130 million from Apple.

“Since we began working with (RED), our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products. The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering so far,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.

Apple was a global winner of the 2016-2017 World Branding Awards in the Mobile Phone category.
