Burson-Marsteller Global Public Affairs Practice Chair, Kevin Bell, has been promoted to Worldwide President, effective immediately.

Burson-Marsteller has appointed Kevin Bell (pictured) to Worldwide President, effective immediately. Since 2014, when he joined the network in London, he has served as Global Public Affairs Practice Chair. In his new capacity, he reports directly to Don Baer, the group’s Worldwide Chair and CEO.

He has been tasked with managing across every region and practice group to drive growth opportunities throughout the entire business. The role includes continuing to build the firm’s strategic communications services for clients, while further developing its integrated communications expertise.

He will operate from the agency’s worldwide headquarters in New York. Over the past 25 years, he has counselled clients across many industries in every region and has supported some of the world’s leading companies, including Aviva, BG, Procter & Gamble, and Tata Consultancy Services.

In addition, he has been an adviser to several senior Conservative Party politicians in the UK—a number of whom are now senior cabinet ministers in the current government—and has counselled various ministers of government and parliamentarians across Europe, North Africa, and Asia.

Bell was previously Executive Chairman at Maitland Political, where he ran the public affairs practice, working accounts such as Fleurette Group of Companies, NATS, and Spire Healthcare. Before that, he was FleishmanHillard Regional President for UK, Africa, and the Middle East.

During said stint, he supported clients including British Airways and Scottish Power. Also, he ran the global inward investment campaign for the Government of Egypt and advised the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi. He is a Trustee of the Institute of Economic Affairs.

“Kevin Bell is a world-class communications professional with both the keen understanding and strong leadership ability to drive even greater excellence and growth at Burson-Marsteller. His clients and colleagues all know he is a trusted counsellor and thoughtful leader of talent,” said Baer.
