Starz Play Gains Right to Stream Premium TV Content Across MENA Region

Warner Bros has signed a multi-year agreement with Starz Play, the video streaming service available in 19 countries across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The deal will enable Starz Play to acquire more premium content from the Hollywood studio.

“This is a landmark deal which adds some of the most demanded and searched titles to our library. We have been successful in attracting top studios to our platform and we are delighted to work with Warner Bros. which is one of the most reputable names in the industry,” said Khaled Benchouche, SVP of Programming & Acquisition at Starz Play.

“Superhero movies and series have always been one of the most popular genres on our platform, and our deal with Warner Bros will enable us to provide amazing TV shows such as ‘The Flash’, and DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ to our subscribers. Starz Play is targeting a leadership position within the regional entertainment industry and this deal will help us to become the number one choice for entertainment fans in MENA,” Benchouche added.

From December, Starz Play will have access to trending TV shows of various genres from Warner Bros. Subscribers will also be able to stream on-demand all ten seasons of the 62 Primetime Emmy Award-winning “Friends.”

Developed exclusively for the MENA region, Starz Play features one-click Arabic subtitling plus Arabic and French user interface options. Starz Play subscribers can now enjoy more than 6K hours of entertainment, including 1.8K hours of dedicated Arabic content and more than 2.5K hours dubbed into French.
