UK CEO Michael Frohlich has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer for the network’s Europe, Africa, and Middle East markets

On the back of his rise to EAME Chief Operation Officer in February, Ogilvy Public Relations has promoted Michael Frohlich to the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME) region. Stepping into his latest role, he retains his designation as the agency’s CEO for the United Kingdom.

The new EAME CEO succeeds Stuart Smith who was promoted to Global CEO last year but retained the title until Frohlich was formally appointed to the position. Stuart joined Ogilvy & Mather in 2010 to run Ogilvy PR EAME. In that time, the brand has experienced strong organic growth, completed several acquisitions, and topped the creativity league tables.

“Michael is simply one of the best PR people I have had the pleasure to hire and work with. Through his energy and passion, he has tirelessly built Ogilvy PR UK into the award-winning agency we now are,” said Stuart Smith, Global CEO of Ogilvy PR.

“Under his leadership, we have transformed into a modern, earned media operation which is a highly creative, social-by-design with content at the centre of our offer. He and his team thoroughly deserved the recognition given by the UK Public Relations Consultancy Association, especially as Agency Head of the Year in 2014.”

The announcement is one in a series made recently by the agency to reflect how Ogilvy PR will structure its operations for the future. Frohlich’s first order of business is developing a brand new five-year strategy for the brand’s network in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East regions.
