While still based at the London office, the promotion expands his creative responsibilities to a global and cross-discipline scope

Gerry Human (pictured) of O&M London has been elevated from his role as Chief Creative Officer to Global Executive Creative Director, Global Brand Management for the group. While based at the same office, the promotion expands his creative responsibilities to a global and cross-discipline scope.

In the capacity, he will report directly to Tham Khai Meng, Worldwide Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy & Mather and work closely with Jaime Prieto, President of GBM. The arm is the network’s global organisation responsible for the health and growth of the agency’s largest multinational clients.

In addition to his new remit of elevating the work across targeted GBM brands, he will continue as creative lead on his UK clients Philips, Expedia, and Kronenbourg 1664. Meanwhile, he will maintain position on the O&M Worldwide Creative Council as well as O&M UK Board.

He joined the group in 2003 when the advertising agency he co-founded, HarrisonHuman, was acquired by Ogilvy & Mather South Africa. With the takeover, Human became ECD of O&M Johannesburg, leading the agency to win Agency of the Year several times during his tenure.

In 2009, he relocated to O&M London to take on creative leadership of the office’s Unilever business. Two years later, he was named Executive Creative Director of O&M Advertising London. He was instrumental in its winning of the Philips, Kronenbourg 1664, and Pizza Hut accounts.

“Gerry has done mould-breaking work in every role he’s served. Under his leadership, O&M London has created some of the most rewarded work in the agency’s history. He is a rare talent, has impeccable creative pedigree, and proven leadership skills to drive the great work we are doing every day for our GBM clients,” said Tham.
