Ward Rejoins McCann Family after 15 Years at Doner Detroit

McCann Worldgroup announced that James Ward has been hired to serve in the role of President, McCann Detroit. Ward joins from Doner Detroit, where he has held a number of senior roles over the last 15 years, most recently as Chief Strategy Officer.

“James has an insatiable energy and drive which is infectious and, aligned with his breadth of experience in strategy, business development and leadership, makes him the perfect addition to our Detroit Team. He will be a great partner for our clients in one of our most important agencies in North America,” said Chris Macdonald, President of McCann Worldgroup North America.

Ward grew up in New York, Miami and Amsterdam and studied marketing and management at Georgetown University. After graduation, he took a job in the account management team at the company‘s New York office, where he spent 11 years, rising to the role of Group Account Director. He left in 2003 to join Doner in Detroit.

Ward has worked with some of the world’s largest global brands across categories that include beverages, pharmaceutical, technology, luxury goods, retail, fast food, financial and CPG.
