Curio has expanded its portfolio with the debut of its first Central American property, Indura Beach & Golf Resort, located in Honduras.

Curio has added Indura Beach & Golf Resort to its global collection of upscale hotels. Owned by Desarrollo Turistico Bahía de Tela and managed by Trust Hospitality, the 60-suite property with the Tela Bay as its backdrop, marks the brand’s first property in Central America.

The vacation spot is part of larger destination resort, which will eventually include two to three hotels and 800 residential units. Dotting a tropical landscape, its 60 junior suites are scattered across 15 villas which are interconnected by footpaths leading to a pristine beach.

The resort has worked to incorporate the culture of the Garifuna—descendants of Caribe, Arawak, and West African people—into its offerings while locally-made sustainable materials were used in its construction. The design of each guestroom reflects Honduran architecture.

Key interior highlights include bamboo floors, pine walls, Guanacaste decorative accents, and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to wrap-around terraces with ocean, golf course or garden views. The course is framed by golden sand beaches, blue lagoons, and native wetland vegetation.

The Caribbean-situated luxury escape boasts the country’s first championship 18-hole golf course. Set on 1,800 acres, the green space was designed by professional golfer, Gary Player, and is overseen by Troon Golf, which is one of the world’s largest luxury golf management companies.

“We are honored to continue our growth in the region with our first Curio property in this spectacular destination. Indura Beach & Golf Resort mixes luxury and environmentally-conscious amenities, offering one a truly authentic travel experience,” said Mark Nogal, Global Head at Curio.
