The Italian national star has selected the brand as his premium training apparel provider and developer of an upcoming lifestyle collection

Inaria, the Performance Sports Group arm responsible for the company’s design and manufacture of soccer equipment and apparel, has forged a partnership with Toronto FC player, Sebastian Giovinco. The Italian national star has selected the brand as his premium training apparel provider.

The collaboration will see the marque develop a new full-on lifestyle collection for the athlete. Torino-born, he recently completed his first season of Major League Soccer (MLS) with the Toronto FC. The season saw him lead the league in scoring 22 goals, winning the 2015 Audi Golden Boot.

Giovinco’s combined 22 goals and 16 assists is the most of any player in MLS history. He will use Inaria training apparel and begin working with the company to develop a full line-up of lifestyle apparel set to launch in the fall of 2016 at select soccer retail locations and online via a dedicated website.

“Sebastian joining Performance Sports Group is a major advancement for our business. Inaria is authentic to the sport of soccer and knowing that an elite globally-recognised player like Giovinco puts his trust in our team and the product we design is a testament to our commitment,” said Kevin Davis, CEO of Performance Sports Group.

Performance Sports Group acquired Inaria in 2012 and today has a portfolio of leading sports equipment businesses, including Bauer Hockey, Mission Roller Hockey, Cascade Lacrosse, Maverik Lacrosse, Easton Baseball/Softball, and Combat Baseball/Softball.

The brand has apparel and other partnerships with Minnesota United FC of the North American Soccer League, the ThinkTaylor Foundation and several NCAA Division I programmes, including the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Cornell University, Colgate University, and Florida Gulf Coast University.
