Shot on the streets of Lisbon, the brand’s new spot depicts how the style icon realises that everyone takes to emulating his fashion sense

H&M has kick-started a new campaign to showcase its spring 2016 Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham collection featuring the football legend. Shot on the streets of Lisbon, it captures how the style icon quickly realises that everyone in his path is stuck on emulating his fashion sense.

Beginning 18 February 2016, the aforementioned clothing line will be available at select stores as well as online via the brand’s retail website. The push marks the star’s second collaboration with director, Fredrik Bond, and draws from their previous commercial’s theme where Kevin Hart dressed exactly like Beckham.

In the new short film, he is shown to be leaving his hotel, only to discover that the people around him are wearing the same outfit as him, including skateboarders, a baby, grandma, and basically everyone else within the city. The commercial will be accompanied by a print campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti.

The push spotlights Beckham as a trend-setter to millions of men worldwide. For the A-lister, it is about mixing up classic traditions with fresh ideas to move menswear forward. The pieces from the range which he dons in the spot are meant to serve as an ideal indicator of his distinct style.

The advertisement is the latest created for the Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham collection. Each season sees him select his favourite articles from the said H&M line, so as to display a wardrobe of updated staples and new classics which men can rely on all season long.
