The WPP agency plans to acquire the assets of Canadian-based public engagement service, Acertys, to expand its North American business

WPP-owned public relations and public affairs firm, H+K Strategies, has set its sights on wholly acquiring the assets of Acertys, a leading Quebec-based public engagement practice. The acquisition plan by the said network has been put in motion with the takeover process currently underway.

With clients encompassing public and private sector organisations working in the fields of urban development, real estate, transportation energy, and natural resources, the brand offers consultation and engagement solutions across both the French- and English-speaking portions of the aforementioned North American market.

Founded in 2006 while based in Montreal, the agency boasts a stable of 13-strong. The move by H+K adds to the company’s public engagement operations in Canada as well as continues WPP’s strategy of investing in important regions and sectors such as public relations and public affairs.

In Canada, the group generate revenues of almost $500 million (£341 million) and employs around 3,000 people. WPP’s public relations and public affairs companies collectively generate revenues of $2 billion (£1.36 billion) and employ over 11,000 people worldwide.
