The chain’s Bateau Bay launch signals the brand’s official entry into Australia and marks the arrival of more stores in New South Wales

Carl’s Jr. under parent company CKE Restaurants Holdings, has rolled out its first ever restaurant in Australia. Located in Bateau Bay while operated by the BKG Group, the pilot location is offering the brand’s signature 100 percent Angus Beef Thickburgers as a key highlight.

Other main servings on the menu include the burger chain’s fresh baked buns, hand-scooped ice cream shakes as well as a coffee bar featuring barista-style desserts and beverage selections. Interestingly, locals have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the inaugural store on their shores.

“Australia is a key expansion market for Carl’s Jr. and we believe that our premium quality and innovative menu items along with our best-in-class customer service and edgy advertising approach is a perfect fit for Australia and its young and hungry guys and gals,” said Ned Lyerly, President, International at CKE.

After months of waiting, the formal launch on 3 February 2016 attracted many loyal supporters to its doors. A long line of fans stood queueing up for as long 24 hours leading up to the official opening to enjoy that first bite of the fast food giant’s premium Thickburgers. A major promotion has also premiered.

To celebrate the entry of Carl’s Jr. into the aforementioned market, the outlet gave away a unique deal to the first 50 customers through the door on opening day. The lucky patrons have been awarded a year’s worth of free burgers. The BKG-CKE partnership will see the debut of 10 new restaurants in total.

The stores are set to launch across the central, mid, and northern coasts of New South Wales. In addition to the development agreement, the chain is also slated to open a branch with the same California-themed setting at the Brisbane airport in July 2016 as well as at the Hobart airport later in the year.

“Carl’s Jr. fills a gap in the market for a premium quality burger experience at the price and convenience of fast food. With our high quality food, edgy marketing and industry leading service, we know that Carl’s Jr. will be a huge hit with the Australian consumer,” said Lindsay Brennan, General Manager of the BKG Group.
