Retail Store Grand Opening Celebrates Hockey and Marks Historic Moment for Iconic Brand
Bauer Hockey, the world’s leading manufacturer of ice hockey equipment and a subsidiary of Performance Sports Group, celebrated the grand opening of its first-ever “Own The Moment” Hockey Experience, a 20,000 square foot premium retail store in the Boston suburb of Burlington.
“This state-of-the-art retail experience elevates our brand and provides the ultimate BAUER showcase. Through our extensively-trained BAUER Personal Fit Experts, players of all ages will now have the ability to be properly fit with the same expertise and knowledge of those who work alongside the most elite-level BAUER players,” said Rich Wuerthele, Executive Vice President, Bauer Hockey.
Built and designed to deliver an exciting and engaging brand experience with unprecedented personalised service, the “Own The Moment” Hockey Experience takes in-store shopping for hockey equipment and apparel to new heights. Complete with a 2,500 square foot indoor ice rink, the “Own The Moment” Hockey Experience provides hockey enthusiasts a unique “fit, learn and experience” process that matches players of all levels with the right BAUER equipment for their game and style of play.
The grand opening celebration featured Wuerthele, as well as Performance Sports Group CEO Kevin Davis and President of PSG Brands Amir Rosenthal. In addition, Massachusetts natives Jack Eichel of the Buffalo Sabres, Jimmy Hayes of the Boston Bruins and NHL legend Mark Messier were also on hand for the celebration, which drew hundreds of hockey fans and players from around New England.
In true hockey fashion, Bauer Hockey also held an on-ice, pre-game ceremony, complete with famed Boston Bruins legend Rene Rancourt singing the national anthem alongside the Burlington Fire Department Honour Guard and a ceremonial puck drop with Eichel, Hayes, Messier and young hockey players from the local area.
Bauer Hockey plans to open a total of eight to ten “Own The Moment” Hockey Experiences in the U.S. and Canada. Bauer Hockey has already announced the second “Own The Moment” Hockey Experience will open in Bloomington, Minnesota, this autumn.
