The ad-free offering marks the launch of the brand’s inaugural water- and dustproof device to cultivate worry-free reading anywhere

American bookseller and digital media retailer, Barnes & Noble, has introduced its inaugural water- and dustproof device, NOOK GlowLight Plus, to cultivate worry-free reading anywhere including the bath and beach. The ad-free eReader is available at stores nationwide and online and comes with complimentary lifetime in-store support.

Designed to offer readers an immersive reading experience both in bright sun- and low light, it uses an advanced E Ink display and built-in ambient light. Sporting an aluminium body for durability, its white border and bronze-coated back epitomises style and durability. Meanwhile, weighing only 6.9 ounces, it promotes carry-on mobility.

Furthermore, its offer of intuitive paper-like reading in high-resolution and glare-free screen renders it an ideal companion in travel and at respite. While it is made to run up to six weeks on a single charge, its hand hand-crafted and fine-tuned fonts have optimised for clarity and greater eye comfort.

“We’re excited to introduce the best ever NOOK eReader to readers across the country, particularly those who have requested a great purpose-built reading device that is both durable and portable,” said Fred Argir, Chief Digital Officer of Barnes & Noble.

Also, the NOOK Profiles feature, previously available on the company’s tablets, is now available to its eReaders for the first time. It transforms NOOK GlowLight Plus into any family member’s own eReader, so they can access personalised content and recommendations with a quick tap.

Furthermore, customers can shop via the NOOK Store and browse through millions of books and periodicals which are accessible in an instant using built-in Wi-Fi. With recommendations from expert Barnes & Noble booksellers, great reads and new authors tailored to a user’s personal interests will be at his fingertips.

The device is also the brand’s first eReader to include B&N Readouts, a newly announced feature that brings the company’s popular bookstore browsing and content discovery to the NOOK digital experience. The offering leverages B&N’s vast content catalogue and knowledge to deliver a daily selection of compelling content.
