Apple has rolled out enhanced editions of all seven books in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, which are now available exclusively via its iBooks Store and accessible via the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac. Consumers can download individual books featuring original text in full, interactive animations, and elaborate artwork.

Fans will find annotations throughout their literary journey, written by the author herself. Until now, the digital books have been available for purchase via the Pottermore Shop. Beginning 12 October 2015, iBooks users can enjoy custom covers and typography featuring custom typefaces and new section headers and drop caps.

The iBooks Store is available in 52 countries, offering dozens of categories with free books available in 155 countries. The Harry Potter Enhanced Editions are available in English across 32 countries. Pre-orders have begun for the French, German and Spanish versions, and are available from 9 November 2015 in 18 additional countries.

Pottermore is the digital entertainment, news, and e-commerce company from J.K. Rowling, inspired by the Harry Potter books and the wider Wizarding World. Launched in 2012, it is also the global publisher of the Harry Potter eBooks and digital audio books.

“J.K. Rowling’s legendary series is perfect for enjoying on your iPad or iPhone and we’re thrilled to offer them exclusively on the iBooks Store,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. Meanwhile, enthusiasts can also explore other content including Harry Potter movies, soundtrack albums and apps on the custom Harry Potter page on iBooks.
