Starting on the ground, Old Navy is making stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York to host empowering skytyping activations.

Old Navy is commemorating International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month with a push aimed at inspiring women and girls. The brand is taking the fun to Los Angeles and San Francisco today and New York tomorrow, so fans can join the empowerment revelry.

Supporters are invited to embrace the positive messaging to be displayed by professional skytypers, with the slogan that the sky’s the limit. Women make up over 71 percent of the marque’s leadership today. Almost 80 percent of its field and headquarters staff are female.

“We encourage all women and girls to not only break through the glass ceiling but believe that there is no ceiling. We hope with our skywriting activation, people will be inspired to celebrate the next generation of trailblazers,” said Jamie Gersch, CMO of Old Navy.

To kick off the activation, Lana Condor was made part of the Los Angeles fleet alongside the nation’s sole female skytyper, Suzanne-Asbury Oliver. Followers can experience the buzz via behind-the-scenes content featuring the actress and connect on social media.

Old Navy is offering a limited-edition collection of International Women’s Day tees in stores and online with designs marked by words and phrases like Hero and I’m with Mama. Also, members of the public can share their personal #skysthelimit stories, photos, and more.

Old Navy co-founder, Doris Fisher, opened The Gap with her late husband, Don, nearly 50 years ago, matching him dollar for dollar in investment. The brand will honour the women behind its designs with a contribution of $25,000 to local non-profit organisation, CARE.
