The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is thrilled to announce the development of an extraordinary luxury property in the heart of Rome, set to open in 2026. This urban oasis will expand the Group’s Italian portfolio to five locations, enhancing its existing properties in Milan and Lake Como, along with the recently announced projects in Cortina and Porto Cervo. The project is in partnership with Merope Asset Management, a leading Italian real estate investment and development company.

In addition, Mandarin Oriental, Rome, will offer a distinctive experience in the city. The hotel is set within ten 19th-century villas, originally constructed as residences for affluent Romans, surrounded by lush landscaped gardens. Guests and visitors will enjoy the serene ambience of this tranquil, private neighbourhood while being just moments away from the city’s major attractions and archaeological sites.

Apart from that, The villas will house 108 guestrooms and suites, offering tranquil views of the gardens or the city’s landmarks. Many of the suites will include private gardens and terraces, enhancing the urban retreat experience for guests. The interior design will be crafted by award-winning designers Gilles & Boissier, the acclaimed French duo known for their sophisticated and contemporary interiors at properties such as Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech and Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid. This ensures a blend of chic elegance and style in every detail. The dining options will be designed by DimoreStudio, with landscaping by Parc Nouveau.

Furthermore, within the grounds, guests can experience six restaurants and bars in various settings, including al fresco dining and a stand-alone dining concept in one of the villas. The Mandarin Bar on a spacious rooftop terrace will offer captivating city views and will indeed become a sought-after destination.

Next, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer a wide range of award-winning wellness experiences in a tranquil setting. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the state-of-the-art facilities, while swimmers can enjoy the large indoor and outdoor pools set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens.

The wellness offerings will include six treatment rooms, a VIP treatment suite, thermal rooms, and a dedicated sundeck, providing an indulgent retreat for those seeking pampering and relaxation.

Not only that, the secluded site is between Via Piemonte and Via Sallustiana within The Gardens of Sallust, an ancient Roman archaeological site renowned for its magnificent landscaping and historic charm. It provides visitors with a glimpse into the grandeur of Rome’s past.

Many of Rome’s cultural heritage sites, as well as premium retail and leisure destinations such as Via Veneto, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, and Piazza Navona, are within proximity.
