Hard Rock International is in the midst of setting up its third European resort, with the upcoming Malta-based hotel slated to launch in 2020.

Hard Rock International is slated to launch its third European resort, following debuts in Ibiza and Tenerife. Projected to open in 2020, the new seafront property in Malta will feature 370 rooms, including 110 suites with balcony views. The upcoming project will be part of a new development called db City Centre.

The swanky enclave set to house the hotel will also include a shopping mall, luxury residences, and contemporary office spaces in the highly sought-after district of St. George’s Bay. Meanwhile, the hospitality establishment is being set up in collaboration with Seabank Group, a partner of the brand for more than 15 years.

Alongside a slew of premium amenities, Hard Rock Hotel Malta will pay homage to the nineteenth century British military accommodation quarters building, which will serve as a key highlight of the overall design and layout. Prior to the holiday destination’s premiere, the historic site will be restored to its original glory.

The hotel expects to host various high-end food and beverage outlets, including a multi-course signature restaurant and rooftop lounge complete with a sky-bar. Guests seeking to recharge will have access to numerous pools, a 16,000-square-foot hideout called Rock Spa, and Body Rock, the hotel’s fitness centre.

“Given its central Mediterranean location, rich cultural history, and vast array of activities—from scuba diving to exploring prehistoric temples—Malta attracts travellers from around the world. We are thrilled to be part of this project,” said Marco Roca, EVP of Global Hotel Development at Hard Rock.
