Following a competitive pitch, Bombardier has picked McCann Canada to handle its strategic marketing and communications business.

Bombardier has officially named McCann Canada its agency of record. The appointment follows a competitive pitch that was held earlier in the spring, which involved top agencies in the country and internationally. Headquartered in Montréal, the brand is a long-time manufacturer of planes and trains.

The account will be led out of the firm’s Montréal office, with its core responsibilities being strategic marketing and communications support for the client’s rail transportation and aerospace businesses worldwide. The company deals in business jets, commercial aircraft, high-speed trains, and public transit.

“McCann offered extensive experience and created a custom-built team to meet our needs. Their passion for our brand, relevant experience as well as the high-level strategic thinking they brought to the pitch process was unmatched,” said Stéphanie Laforest, Senior Director, Corporate Strategy at Bombardier.

“The bonus was having all that talent and ability on the ground in Montréal, coupled with insights and resources from a global network we can leverage for our international business units. From brand strategy to connections planning and integrated creative solutions, their expertise won them the business.”

Bombardier employs 66,000 people around the globe. Meanwhile, McCann operates several branches throughout Canada and has a team of more than 50 local market experts across multiple disciplines in Montréal. The agency was awarded said account earlier in the week and begins work immediately.
