Autograph Collection Hotels has opened a new boutique hotel, Hotel EMC2, in Chicago to attract global travellers and the city’s notables.
Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott, has opened the doors of Hotel EMC2 in downtown Chicago. A tie-up with hospitality company, SMASHotels, the property celebrates the convergence of art and science through its design, cuisine, and guest experience.
The 195-room location joins a portfolio of over 100 Autograph Collection Hotels worldwide. Aesthetically influenced by laboratories from the 1920s with rose gold fixtures, premium furnishings, and high-end art pieces, Da Vinci’s vision sets the stage for the establishment.
A contemporary restaurant—dubbed The Albert as a tribute to Einstein—offers dishes from Executive Chef, Brandon Brumback, and delivers the essence of a 1930s institute of higher learning, where professors discussed the mysteries of the universe, scotch in hand.
The eatery also features an intimate kitchen, where diners are invited behind-the-scenes to witness Brumback’s culinary canvas first-hand alongside the commissioned artwork from West Coast surrealist painter, Paul Bond, as well as homegrown artist, Jonathan Plotkin.
