Air New Zealand has released an all-star safety ad. The Bay of Island’s marketing group invested in the push to drive destination awareness.

Air New Zealand has cast an all-star line-up of homegrown talent in its latest safety video, which highlights the tourism jewels spanning the destination’s Northland region. Inspired by the classic Kiwi road trip, Summer of Safety follows the adventures of Shortland Street’s Jayden Daniels.

In the commercial, he is captured travelling across Northland’s Bay of Islands and Hokianga, encountering a host of friendly locals, famous faces, and iconic attractions along the way. Joining him is supermodel, Rachel Hunter, who travelled home to star alongside nearly a hundred locals for the shoot.

Joe Naufahu hopped on straight from a Game of Thrones stint. Stuntwoman, Zoe Bell, and sidekick, Blossom the British Bulldog; IndyCar’s Scott Dixon; and Olympic bronze medallist, Eliza McCartney, also came on board the eventful road trip, which was filmed at ten locations across Northland.

Air New Zealand hosted the cast at a premiere event, where they were treated to a special LadyHawke showcase. The airline’s GM of Global Brand and Content Marketing, Jodi Williams, said the spot will place the Bay of Islands and the wider Northland region on the wish list of millions worldwide.

“Our videos have an impressive global following, collectively attracting more than 100 million views and gaining significant international exposure. This latest edition is a great way to deliver our safety message and showcase the best of the North to drive economic benefit for the region,” said Williams.
