As part of its marketing efforts for the CR-V SUV, Honda has created a digital campaign to spotlight pet adoption through Carlos PenaVega.

Honda is continuing its 2017 CR-V SUV launch efforts with the debut of a digital campaign that runs from 2-31 March across the brand’s social channels to include Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Featuring a partnership with spcaLA, the Hispanic push uses the vehicle to bring awareness to pet adoption.

Through the CR-V Pet Adoption Drive, the carmaker is helping dogs find a forever family. The exercise stars dog lover, Carlos PenaVega, who will reach out to America’s pet-loving community via the brand’s social media platforms on behalf of canines in search of a new home.

The first of the three-part video series launched today to spotlight the variant’s updated exterior styling, capability, and roominess. Meanwhile, the spot captures PenaVega and spcaLA as they share helpful animal care tips. The adoption drive follows the Spanish-language TVC, Best Friends, rolled out last month.

The commercial debuted on Fox Deportes during football’s big game in February, marking a first for Honda. Focusing on the notion that sometimes a dream means helping others realise theirs, the creative tells the emotional story of a boy and his mum who adopt a puppy together.

The boy and dog develop a fun and loving relationship. The family comes together to train the pet. One day, they receive the call they’d been expecting. In the ad’s final moments, it is revealed that their training assistance was to prepare the canine as a service dog meant as a gift for a child with special needs.

“Highlighting these inspirational stories will enable viewers to become familiar with the CR-V and spotlight the dogs which are available for adoption as well as help find homes for these deserving animals,” said Susie Rossick, Assistant Vice President of Honda Auto Marketing.
