Bubba Wallace to Serve as Brand Ambassador for Cobra Line of Mobile Electronics

Cobra Electronics, a leading designer and marketer of award-winning automotive, mobile and consumer electronics, today announced a partnership with Darrell “Bubba” Wallace, Jr, driver of No 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Wallace will serve as a brand ambassador for the company and its line of driver awareness and connected devices, including driver alert systems, dash cams and citizens band radio.

“Partnering with an innovative company like Cobra is a great opportunity. Cobra designs and makes a great line of products that keep drivers safe and aware out on the road,” said Wallace, who will be competing in his first Daytona 500 on 18 February.

A graduate of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity programme, Wallace became the first African-American in 50 years to win in one of NASCAR’s top three national touring series in 2013.

Now firmly established as one of NASCAR’s top young drivers with 6 US national series wins, Wallace will be the first African-American to compete full-time in NASCAR’s premier US national series since 1971. As his story unfolds, he is becoming an inspiration for young racers and fans.

The company’s partnership with Wallace will focus on its line of connected mobile electronics products that include radar detection systems, the Cobra iRadar app, dash cams and CB radios.

“We are excited to partner with Bubba as he enters the biggest stage of his racing career. Bubba’s popularity and rise to the sport’s top series enables Cobra to reach the next generation of drivers and educate them on its solutions to protect them while driving,” said Chris Kooistra, Senior Director, Brand Partnerships, Cobra Electronics.
