Super 8 by Wyndham has partnered with actor and philanthropist, Giacomo Gianniotti, to launch its #JourneySafe push. The main aim is to raise awareness and educate the public on the dangers of drowsy driving, which it notes causes over 100,000 crashes annually.

The debut has been timed to coincide with National Sleep Awareness Month and just ahead of Daylight Saving, which sets the clock back so many will lose an hour of sleep. With more than one of three Americans already sleep-deprived, the change can worsen the condition.

Drawing attention to the above, Super 8 by Wyndham has issued a call to action urging drivers to be mindful of the signs of drowsiness. Led by a video with dashboard characters to carry the message forward, a hula girl, football bobblehead, and bobbing dog feature.

The spot airs nationally across a mix of digital platforms with additional extensions planned for the entire year to include a presence at the group’s properties countrywide. A dedicated website has been created to afford helpful tips and encourage pledges from its consumers.

“With over 1,700 locations across America and Canada, our hotels are trusted roadside companions for when you need to pull over and rest. The safer you are, the further you will go. Don’t drive drowsy,” said Mike Mueller, Senior Vice President a of Super 8 by Wyndham.
