An atmosphere which fuels life in balance and on the move, the Element experience is suited to travellers staying for days or weeks.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has launched its eco-incubator brand in the Netherlands. The opening of Element Amsterdam marks the hospitality brand’s second location in Europe, which debuted two years ago at Frankfurt Airport in Germany during 2014.

Reflecting contemporary artistry and eco-minded sensibilities, the property, while an adaptive re-use project, is situated in the Zuidas area, one of the city’s main business districts. It is positioned within a former office building at the Gelderlandplein shopping mall.

The establishment’s 160 studios and suites are equipped with working kitchenette, flexible living space, and signature spa-inspired bathroom. Meanwhile, Element Amsterdam’s two restaurants, My Place and Carrots & Co, focus on sustainable ingredients and provide healthy options all day.

The grab-and-go gourmet food pantry allows guests to buy everything needed to make delicious meals in the comfort of their rooms. Patrons also have the option of a healthy ‘Rise’ breakfast in the morning and ‘Relax’ wine reception in the evening—both of which are complimentary.

Providing an atmosphere which fuels life in balance and on the move, the reimagined experience is ideal for travellers visiting for a few days or weeks. The hotel also provides a keyless entry system, a first for the industry. The feature allows guests to use their smartphone or Apple Watch as a room key.

“On track to more than double its global portfolio in the next three years, Element fills a much-needed niche in the market and caters to travellers who seek a smart and sustainable experience when they are on the move,” said Brian McGuinness, Global Brand Leader of Starwood’s Specialty Select Brands.
