Users Can Share Snaps and Chat with 15 Other Friends in the Latest Feature

Snapchat has launched Groups in its latest update on Tuesday. The new addition will allow users to send Snaps and creating a new Chat room with a group of up to 16 people.

Names of group members will be shown at the bottom of the group chat. A click on a name will initiate a private one-on-one chat, and with a quick swipe back users can return to the group chat. Snapchat developed the “Quick Chat” service as the fastest way to keep the conversation going with one friend without spamming the entire group.

Similar to regular Snaps and chats, the content shared in Groups will be deleted by default after 24 hours.

In addition to Groups, Snapchat also included two new creative tools in its update – Scissors allows users to cut out part of a Snap on the preview screen to be used as stickers, and Paintbrush can be applied to Snaps in the Memories section to turn them into art.

After changing its company name to Snap Inc., Snapchat had launched its first hardware – Snapchat Spectacles. The sunglasses come with an integrated video camera that enables users to capture photos or videos and upload them to Snapchat via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.
