Rosewood Hotels expands its presence in Mexico with the upcoming debut of Mandarina, a luxury location slated to premiere in 2019.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will manage a fifth property under the hospitality group in Mexico which opens in 2019. Set to launch on the west coast, and a short distance from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, the resort is headed to the region of Riviera Nayarit.

Boasting a culture as rich as its flora, the exotic enclave is renowned for its diverse landscape of lagoons, rivers, volcanoes, mountains, abundant vegetation, and nearly 200 miles of beach along the Pacific Ocean. Rosewood Mandarina will offer 130 guestrooms, suites, and villas.

Dining options for travellers will include a speciality eatery, sunset bar, and poolside grill and beach bar. The hotel expects to install three pools, a gym, and spa with 10 treatment rooms in addition to event space. The getaway draws inspiration from the pre-historic Huichole and Cora cultures.

Combining modern luxury and comfort, the region affords exclusive access to three diverse environments—the beach, lowlands, and highlands—each offering unique activities. From fishing to agricultural exploration to mountainside hikes, the backdrop is steeped in nature.

The Rosewood Mandarina resort hotel joins a regional network of distinctive vacation spots in Mexico and Central America, which include the Mayakoba, San Miguel de Allende, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, and Puebla properties under the hospitality marque.

“We are excited to expand our brand further into Mexico, a leading destination for luxury travellers. With all that Riviera Nayarit has to offer, Mandarina effortlessly embodies the brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy,” said Sonia Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Rosewood Hotel Group.
