Merck and Mandy Moore recently collaborated to launch Her Life. Her Adventures. which inspires women to re-evaluate their goals in life.

Biopharmaceutical giant, Merck, partnered with singer-songwriter and actress, Mandy Moore, to roll out Her Life. Her Adventures. Created to educate women on family planning and birth control, the campaign empowers women to plan ahead and be better prepared.

As part of the push, 2,013 women were surveyed online this year for an understanding of their current priorities and goals. Among the respondents polled, financial stability (98%), emotional development (94%), relationship security (86%), and career growth (81%) were identified as top priorities.

The study also identified that for 40 percent of women without children and 39 percent of those with, immediate priorities did not include starting or growing a family. Among 908 birth control users, nearly one in four women considered their options for less than 15 minutes before making a decision.

Under that same category, 67 percent were interested in learning more about their options from their healthcare professionals, which according to the brand, suggests an opportunity for a more open and targeted dialogue in the doctor’s office around family planning.

Based on said findings, Merck developed the new initiative in a bid encourage women to talk with their doctors and re-discover the birth control as well as the reversible or long-term options available. The main objective is to curb unplanned pregnancies altogether.

The campaign website offers helpful information and useful tips on planning ahead as well as welcomes women to join the conversation by sharing their own life adventures. Visitors can connect with the movement and its key highlights through Instagram and Facebook.

“Through the Her Life. Her Adventures. campaign, we hope to bring to life the importance of family planning, allowing women to have an informed discussion with their doctor on available birth control options,” said Kathryn Hayward, Associate VP of Primary Care and Women’s Health for Merck.
