JW Marriott has moved to extend its Asian footprint with the opening of the group’s first ever luxury property in Singapore featuring 634 rooms.

JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts has opened its first Singapore property on South Beach. Located in close proximity to the Marina Bay entertainment and business districts, the 634-room luxury spot represents an iconic lifestyle destination in the heart of market’s arts and culture district.

The hotel consists of historic and new buildings, with interiors by French designer, Philippe Starck, and architecture by British agency, Foster and Partners. The venue’s decadence is amplified by a multi-million dollar collection of more than 30 works and installations by acclaimed artists.

The rooms are fitted with smart amenities such as an IPTV system, up to seven USB power sockets, and a WiFi-enabled mobile phone allowing one to receive calls anywhere on the property. For female travellers, rooms with a boyfriend shirt, facial steamer, and hair straightener are available.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach features a total of nine food and drink options, with the first five newly launched to include Akira Back, Beach Road Kitchen, Court Martial Bar, Media Bar, and Tonic. The remaining four outlets are scheduled to debut during the second quarter of 2017.

The location also counts 1,711 square meters in indoor and outdoor spaces for events; a bespoke collection which includes a Grand Ballroom housed in its 1930s historic Drill Hall. The hotel’s 15 meeting rooms are situated within Assembly, which is one of the property’s restored historic buildings.

“We welcome travellers to this design-led landmark and look forward to enriching guests with a truly luxurious experience and showcasing the intuitive service that is synonymous with the brand globally,” said Derek Flint, General Manager at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
