Diageo celebrates core purpose of “Celebrating life every day everywhere”

Last week saw the return of the Diageo, INC Week – a week long series of employee led events, panels, workshops and more hosted in the Global HQ in London all under the ‘INC’ umbrella.

Following the success of the inaugural event in July 2017, this is the second time INC Week has taken place – this time going bigger and better with more than 10 events being held throughout the week.

Embracing diversity including gender, sexuality, ethnicity, experience, thinking styles and more has been proven time and time again to benefit commercial performance. A such, this year, the brand focused on a broad range of areas when it comes to fostering an inclusive and diverse work place, including gender, ethnicity, disabilities, sexuality and more.

In addition to hearing from some of our leaders, INC Week welcomed a host of inspirational external speakers to address some of the above topics, including British author and TV presenter June Sarpong, chartered psychologist Nadia Nagamootoo and Yasmin Sheikh, founder of Diverse Matters.

Back in March we launched a series of short films to celebrate a handful of the inspiring women within our business, as part of International Women’s Day. To mark this year’s INC Week and to continue to showcase some of the highly inspirational individuals that work within Diageo, we are delighted to tell some new stories from individuals in the business.

At Diageo we know that for our business to thrive and for Diageo to realize its ambition, we depend on having diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in each of the 180 countries in which we operate and to reflect our broad consumer base. We view diversity as one of the key enablers that helps our business to grow and our values, purpose and standards set the conditions for us to respect the unique contribution each person brings.
