Crystal River Cruises has launched live view cameras aboard the Crystal Mozart, a luxury offering under its portfolio. The debut follows the vessel’s maiden voyage from Vienna less than two months ago. According to the brand, the move is a river industry first.

Travellers seeking a glimpse of the medieval villages, expansive landscapes, and stunning cities on the cruise route along the Danube River, can now select the ‘Live Views’ option via the Crystal Cruises newly revamped website to savour real-time views of the ship’s position.

While the feed has long featured for its ocean and yacht cruises, its positioning on the Crystal Mozart marks the premiere of such digital perks for a river cruise. The feature solidifies its symbol as one of the most technologically-advanced vessels on Europe’s rivers.

Each suite offers iPad devices that serve as digital directories for a traveller’s on-board needs—from dry cleaning to butler and room service to dining reservations, concierge, and Crystal Adventures inquiries. The suites also include 40-inch flat-screen HD televisions.

Another key highlight includes the backlit bathroom mirror integrated television offering. Its en-suites also feature high-end Toto Washlet personal cleaning systems equipped with heated seats, an automatic open-and-close option, aerated water, and a warm air dryer.

“The live views are a benefit for guests and those at home since they are instantly transported to destinations our luxury river cruise line visits. They can follow along virtually and discern which itineraries are right for them,” said Edie Rodriguez, CEO and President at Crystal Cruises.
