Champion is commemorating its hundredth-year journey with a legacy video starring Magic Johnson and other teams from around the world.

Global athleticwear label, Champion, is celebrating a century of teamwork with the launch of a centennial anniversary campaign. Titled 100 Years for the Team, the exercise explores what the concept means in 2019 from the perspective of participating teams, squads, and crews from across the world.

From is humble Rochester beginnings in 1919 as Knickerbocker Knitting Mills to its position today as an international player, Champion has always been about shared effort. The push will embody this with year-long social media executions, exclusive collections, events, and influencer partnerships.

“This significant milestone for Champion allows us to reflect on what team and the evolution of sports means today to consumers. Now is the time to celebrate how teams today have the power to change the world for the better,” said Jon Ram, Group President of Global Activewear for Hanesbrands.

Select icons will appear in a celebration video. The centennial-themed film will shine a spotlight on basketball legend, Magic Johnson. The professional athlete will offer some of his own reflections and personal insights into what makes a team outstanding and how said values coincide with the marque.
