Vivint Smart Home has kicked off its NBA partnership with a campaign starring Utah Jazz players, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.

Smart home company, Vivint, has inked a multi-year deal with Utah Jazz players, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. The alliance will see the NBA athletes collaborate with the brand on several upcoming campaigns. The newly launched Letters to Utah push is their first.

Featuring broadcast and social media executions, the effort puts a heartfelt spin on those farewell messages that have become a tradition amongst NBA players who switch teams. This one sees Mitchell and Gobert share what they love about playing in Utah and shows excitement over what they’re building in their new home.

Letters to Utah was directed by Rick McFarland of fiftyfilms. The music from the spots was composed by Lisle Moore of Garage Mahal Music. The theme of the Vivint creative is Home is Everything. A dedicated website has been developed to drive consumer engagement.

“It is a tradition for athletes to write farewell letters when they leave a city. Instead, Donovan and Rudy are sending letters at the start of a new season to the state that has become their second home. We are honoured to have them both represent our brand,” said Nate Randle, CMO at Vivint Smart Home.
