WPP’s Soho Square in India has elevated Ogilvy veteran, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, to the dual role of Chairman and Chief Creative Officer.

Soho Square has named Sumanto Chattopadhyay its Chairman and CCO. With effect from 1 August 2017, he will work to shape the agency’s culture and reputation, and lead its next phase of growth in India. The newly appointed head has been part of the Ogilvy network since 1993.

Throughout his tenure with the company, he has helped build brands like Dove, Pond’s, Star Plus, Maharashtra Tourism, Pro Kabaddi, and The Economist. While instrumental in the growth of the Ogilvy offices in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Colombo, he also assisted in the relaunch of Axis Bank.

Chattopadhyay has won numerous international and national awards at Cannes, the Clios, One Show, London Festival, Abbies, and Kyoorius. He holds an MBA from Canada’s McGill University and a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Clemson University in South Carolina.
