Petco has released its Holiday Tails push across multiple channels to include broadcast, digital, social media, and in-store advertising.

Petco has created a campaign encouraging revellers to remember pets in need throughout the holiday season. From now until 24 December, its American audiences are being invited to support the push by contributing toys and key supplies to animal shelters in the country.

For the donation drive, stores nationwide are collecting toys, wet and dry food, and litter for cats and dogs. Themed Holiday Tails, the festive effort has launched with a stop-motion animation film, Saving Up, to inspire humans everywhere to care, share, give, and adopt.

The Petco spot tells of a boy who experiences joy when the newest member of his family, a lifetime canine companion, is brought home. Television and cinema ads will run in cities such as Chicago, San Diego, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Antonio, Philadelphia, and New York.

In addition to the broadcast placements, the exercise includes digital, social media, and in-store executions using compelling messaging. A major component of the overall initiative is the adoption of rescues and animal welfare through food, fostering, and volunteering.

Another extension is the Photos with Santa event scheduled for December, where people can have holiday shots captured with their pets. All proceeds will go towards animal welfare organisations in need of support for their lifesaving efforts involving animals.

“Many families forget to include their pets in holiday festivities. We are proud to celebrate the power of giving by shining a light on the millions of pets that need loving homes to gain the kind of bond the hero in our campaign discovers,” said Tariq Hassan, Petco CMO.
