Foot Locker has partnered with DeMarcus Cousins and Ndamukong Suh for its latest back-to-school advertising push, Make an Impression.

Foot Locker has released a new spot in conjunction with the back-to-school season. Titled Make an Impression, the film stars NBA centre, DeMarcus Cousins, alongside NFL defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh, and captures the pair loading Nike sneakers and apparel into a car after shopping.

Suh reflects on their new gear, telling Cousins that Foot Locker always comes through, who then responds by saying image is everything, and that once people get a certain impression, it can be hard for them to see past it.

Both athletes agree, noting the ongoing narrative that paints them as ‘difficult’ or ‘selfish,’ when in reality, if they are guilty of anything, it is caring too much. As they walk on, they pass some people in precarious situations, too engrossed in their own conversation to notice or offer help.

The commercial features a premium assortment of Nike merchandise including the Air Max 97, which is available at stores across the United States and online. The advertisement was developed by creative shop, BBDO.

“Suh and Cousins bring an unparalleled passion and competitive edge to the game in their respective leagues, making them a natural fit as we look to help consumers make an impression this back-to-school season,” said Stacy Cunningham, VP of Brand Marketing and Services at Foot Locker North America.
